We’ve become an Official Partner of National Mentoring Day

PRIME Cymru is on a mission to sign-up new volunteer mentors, to support the thousands of older workers who are now unemployed due to the pandemic.

We’ve teamed up with the internationally recognised National Mentoring Day, becoming their only Official Partner based in Wales.

We hope to recruit and train an additional 200 mentors over the next year. Anyone who feels they have skills and experience that others could benefit from and would like to become a mentor with PRIME Cymru is encouraged to get in touch. Mentors will be given free, accredited training, recognised by the Institute of Enterprise and Entrepreneurs.

Mentoring is needed now more than ever. This age group has been severely hit by the effects of the pandemic, with nearly 600,000 more older workers now unemployed compared with two years ago.

PRIME Cymru Chief Executive, David Pugh, said: “The support provided by our mentors can be life changing for older workers who want to return to work or start a business.  That is why we are delighted to become an Official Partner of National Mentoring Day. We want to use this special event as a catalyst to recruit new mentors to provide the vital support required by older workers to once again become economically active.”

Anyone from across the UK is invited to volunteer their time to support someone in Wales to secure employment or set up a business.
