Justin Jones has an interesting career background, spending many years working in East Africa building rig pads and access roads for agricultural villages.
He then started his own restaurant and bar business in Uganda, but the timing was not meant to be, as Covid struck and brought that venture to an end.
Justin decided to return to Wales. Despite his ample experience, he had no qualifications and felt as though he was starting from scratch.
Being over 50, his local Job Centre told him about the support he could receive from PRIME Cymru. Michelle Rydell, Development Officer for Powys, helped to give Justin the confidence to start a new drone business.
Michelle’s support involved providing Justin with information on being a videographer and operating drones, helping him to secure funding to gain the relevant training and signposting to IT support available locally.
Justin said: “Michelle pointed me in the right direction and gave me a great boost. She was just what I needed to make me think I can do it.
“I can’t thank her enough for everything. I really appreciate all the help, experience and enthusiasm she gave me. I feel so much more motivated after our meetings.”
